11. Attend Senior Night

One of the most important traditions in college sports is Senior Night. Unlike the pros, who can stay in one place for as long as their team wants them, college athletes can spend at most four years representing their school.

Colleges always do something special for their seniors at one of their last home games, a tradition known as Senior Night (or Senior Day, depending on when it is held). Basketball fans are familiar with the rituals of Senior Night, which usually involve the seniors walking on the court with their family in a special pre-game ceremony.

Those seniors are then greeted by their coaches, who present them with a framed jersey to honor their time playing for them. It is an emotional experience for the players, who know this will be the last time they are playing as a collegian at home, and for their families.

Watching Senior Night festivities on TV is one thing, but it is entirely different to experience it in person. The raw emotion that comes from the celebration of the careers of these seniors is something that cannot be replicated through a screen.

Many schools do similar ceremonies so it really doesn’t matter where you go to watch a Senior Night ceremony. If you truly want a fulfilling college basketball bucket list experience make sure you stop at one at some point on your journey.
