7. Storm the court

This item on the bucket list, admittedly, is hard to plan on since you can’t guarantee a court storming when you walk into the gym at night. Top-ranked programs like Duke, North Carolina, and Kentucky never even offer the opportunity to storm the court since their fan bases are so accustomed to winning and being atop the polls.

For the uninitiated, storming the court is an event that takes place following big upsets in college basketball. If an unranked team upsets a squad inside the top-10, the fans tend to storm the floor after the game to celebrate with the players.

The idea of storming the court is controversial for many reasons. Safety is often an issue since people can get trampled on the way down to the floor, leading to discussions among schools about banning the practice for those reasons.

There are also some people who feel the idea of storming the court is beneath certain programs, particularly high-major schools with a history of success. Indiana fans drew some heat for this act last year when they stormed the court after upsetting Michigan State, which felt like blasphemy for a proud school.

This item is still highly situational, so this is one you’ll have to check off when you get an opportunity to do it. If the crowd starts rushing the floor after a massive upset, go with them and you’ll be able to knock this item off of your bucket list.
