4. Attend a Duke-North Carolina game

In terms of college basketball rivalries, there are none in college basketball with as much notoriety as the one between Duke and North Carolina. The hatred between the two schools, which are separated by just ten miles, is so intense it has to be experienced in person.

Plenty of college basketball’s most notable players have appeared in this rivalry, including Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Christian Laettner and Grant Hill. The fan bases also can’t stand each other, so both buildings are absolutely electric.

We highly recommend checking out a Duke-Carolina game during the regular season since it is enhanced much more by being on campus. Meetings in the ACC Tournament are certainly fun for boosting the stakes of the game, but the energy from the crowd isn’t quite the same as it is in Chapel Hill or Durham.

The two programs always meet twice a year, so the bucket lister will have a choice of where to take in the matchup. A lot of the latter meetings end up as senior night, so hitting up one of these matchups could kill two birds with one stone.

There is not a more dynamic rivalry in college hoops than the one between the Tar Heels and Blue Devils, so it must be experienced on the college basketball bucket list. This game is a marquee attraction that needs to be included on any itinerary.
