1. Participate in the Rock Chalk chant at Allen Fieldhouse

Congratulations, you’ve made it to the top of the bucket list. The one experience all diehard college basketball fans have to have is participating in the Rock Chalk chant at Allen Fieldhouse.

This tradition ties directly to one of the sport’s oldest and most successful blue bloods, the University of Kansas. The Jayhawks have become known for their dominance at home, which has given birth to the Rock Chalk chant.

For the uninitiated, the Rock Chalk chant takes place late in home games where Kansas is well on its way to a victory. The crowd will then sway back and forth and hauntingly start chanting “Rock Chalk, Jayhawk, KU”.

This simple chant is hauntingly beautiful and a true reflection of what the college basketball experience is about. These kinds of traditions simply don’t exist at the professional level anymore since the game is more about individual stars as opposed to team successes.

Make sure you do all of the things on this bucket list, but the top priority has to be getting out to Allen Fieldhouse so you can partake in the Rock Chalk chant. That experience is unlike anything else you will find in college sports in America today.
