1. New York Giants free agent targets: Logan Ryan, cornerback

He is certainly one of the top unrestricted free agents remaining on the open market. And depending on what you read, the seven-year performer has a price in mind when it comes to joining another franchise. But there’s little doubt the impact that cornerback Logan Ryan had on the Tennessee Titans’ defensive unit this past season. And his play was one reason the club came within one victory of reaching Super Bowl LIV.

It is worth noting that the seasoned performer spent four seasons in Foxborough before joining the Titans in 2017. While with the New England Patriots, new Giants’ head coach Joe Judge was a part of Bill Belichick’s staff. So there is a degree of familiarity here between the coach and player. Then again, a look at Ryan’s numbers this past season may be all you need to know about the impression he could make on the Giants’ defense.

There were a team-best 113 tackles, 18 passes defensed and four forced fumbles. He finished second on the club with four interceptions and added 4.5 sacks. In Tennessee’s three-game postseason run, he added 25 stops and had a pick-six at the expense of one-time Patriots’ teammate Tom Brady.

The recent news regarding 2019 first-round pick DeAndre Baker continues to take plenty of turns (the latest via Darryl Slater of NJ.com). This offseason, the Giants did sign former Panthers’ cornerback James Bradberry. But landing Ryan would be a major coup.
