5 players who the Chicago Bears need to be great in 2020
By Ryan Fedrau
Allen Robinson
Since coming to Chicago, Allen Robinson has been the Bears number one target. Mitchell Trubisky has found success throwing the ball Robinson’s way. It almost seems unfair on how much of a steal Robinson was, coming off of a knee injury that saw him miss most of the 2017 NFL season.
Robinson had 98 catches for over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He is going to have to repeat that in 2020 if the Bears want to be successful in the passing game.
Now, I know the Bears added weapons like Ted Ginn Jr, Cole Kmet, and Jimmy Graham to their passing game, but none of them are better than Robinson. He was the only player on offense last season that was consistently good.
After battling through a tough 2019 season at the quarterback position, Robinson can only get better. If Trubisky improves in the offseason and is the Week 1 starter, Robinson will be his top target. If Nick Foles becomes the Week 1 starter, he will have to build a solid relationship on the field with Robinson.
The success of the passing game will go through Robinson in 2020. If he’s great, the quarterbacks will have a better chance of being successful. I, for one, am excited to see Robinson break out with either Trubisky or Foles again in 2020.
