Ranking the five best Michigan football seasons in Wolverines history.

Ann Arbor, Michigan is home to one of the greatest programs in college football history. From Legendary coaches, such as Fielding Yost, Bo Schembechler and Lloyd Carr to some of the greatest players to play, such as Tom Harmon, Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson, the Wolverines have left their mark in the history books.

However, the current state of Michigan football is in question. After posting three losing seasons in seven years under Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke, former Wolverine quarterback, Jim Harbaugh, took over as head coach and has had three 10-win seasons in his five years as head coach. But the Wolverines have lost four straight bowl games, have only finished better than third place in the Big Ten East once, and worst of all, haven’t beaten Ohio State since 2011.

This storied program has been going through a Big Ten championship drought but nonetheless, the Wolverines are always talked about from spring ball to opening weekend as a playoff contender. This respect comes through Harbaugh’s resume, but also from what the Wolverines have done since their first game in 1879: win, dominate and keeping things traditional.

So what are the greatest teams the Wolverines have ever put together? How many teams of Coach Bo do we see? What’s the number for Carr?
