States that produce the most 5-star college football recruits

These states produce the most five-star recruits.

It takes a special type of program to get five-star prospects on an annual basis. It also helps when these prospects are consistently on your own backdoor. Some colleges clearly have more of an advantage than others, and that is proven by the plethora of talent that comes out of their state every year.

These are the five states producing the most five-star recruits in college football since 2000. All recruiting rankings reflect the 247Sports All-Time Football Players rankings.

5. Alabama, 33 five-star recruits in college football since 2000

It’s not a coincidence that this current run by the Crimson Tide is better than any other in college football history. Football runs the states and they prove that by producing some of the best high school football talents in the country.

Alabama has had 33 five-star ranked prospects come out of their state. Of course, a lot of that talent has gone to the Crimson Tide as they have secured 20 out of those 33 five-star commits. The ones that don’t happen to go to Alabama though, usually find their way to Auburn as the Tigers have secured six five-star commits out of the state. In all, that means 79 percent of five-stars from Alabama participate in the Iron Bowl.

Interestingly though, the only Heisman winner of the group, Jameis Winston, decided to attend Florida State. Considering that he won a national title there too, it’s hard to argue with his decision.

Other notable five-stars to come out of the state include Julio Jones, O.J. Howard, T.J. Yeldon and current Auburn quarterback Bo Nix.
