Dodgers disappointment No. 1: 2019 season

Record 106-56

Playoff Result: Lost NLDS 3-2

The Dodgers dominance of the National League West continued with their seventh straight division title. They finished the regular season by breaking the franchise record for wins in a season, previously held by the previously mentioned 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers.

The winningest regular season in Dodger history was followed by a loss to the Washington Nationals in the NLDS.

In Game 1 of the Series, Dodger pitcher Walker Buehler struck out eight batters while allowing one hit in six innings to win 6-0.

Washington and Los Angeles exchanged wins back-and-forth to force a pivotal Game 5.

The Dodgers jumped out with a two-run homer from Max Muncy. The Dodgers maintained a 3-1 lead until Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto hit back-to-back home runs off Clayton Kershaw. Former Dodger Howie Kendrick hit a 10th inning grand slam to give the Washington Nationals a 7-3 victory. The Nationals would go on to win their first World Series in franchise history.

In four of the last five seasons, the Dodgers have been eliminated from the playoffs at home. Three of those games were winner-take-all contests. The Nationals bullpen locked it down, while the Dodgers watched, again, a visiting team celebrating all over their field.
