Alabama football schedule 2020: Predicting every Crimson Tide game
The Alabama football schedule begins with a trip to Arlington, Texas to play USC.
Sept. 5 – vs. USC (Arlington, TX)
So much for Saban and the Crimson Tide getting things started on an easy note. While the USC Trojans may not be the program they were in the early-to-mid 2000s, they should be dangerous. A healthy Kedon Slovis makes for a great test for the Alabama defense. It won’t be a blowout but Najee Harris and the Bama defense will power their way to a tough victory in Jerry World to open the season. Prediction: Win
Sept. 12 – vs. Georgia State
There’s not much to say here. While Georgia State has caught some teams slipping over the years, they haven’t caught a team the caliber of Alabama. Not that they ever had a shot but this Week 2 game also serving as the home-opener in Tuscaloosa doesn’t do the Panthers any favors as they’ll get steamrolled. Prediction: Win
Sept. 19 – vs. Georgia
Much like Bama, the Georgia Bulldogs have transition at quarterback (and perhaps in offensive philosophy) but should also have one of the best defenses in college football. So who wins out in this early-season game that should prove critical in both the SEC and College Football Playoff races?
Even if you call the defenses a wash, the skill positions for Alabama are just superior to what we’ve seen from Georgia. When you take that into account plus the fact that Saban has consistently found a way to best Kirby Smart, it’s advantage Tide in Week 3. Prediction: Win
Sept. 26 – vs. Kent State
If this were another opponent and not Kent State, you could possibly talk me into a letdown game for the Crimson Tide after having already played USC and then Georgia in the month of September. However, it is Kent State that makes the trip to Tuscaloosa to close out the first full month of the 2020 season and they’ll get dismantled by Saban’s club. Prediction: Win
