5 reasons Browns can win with Baker Mayfield in 2020
2. A dynamic ground game
The Browns passing game understandably garners a lot of attention from opposing defenses, but the ground game was arguably the better group in 2019. The combination of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenses.

Chubb was a borderline dominant running back for the full 16-game schedule. He carried the ball 298 times for 1,494 yards and eight touchdowns. His impressive five yards per carry average did a lot to keep the Browns offense on schedule.
Hunt only played eight games a season ago but it’s easy to understand what he can bring to the offense. He can be the big play compliment to Chubb’s status as a batting ram in the backfield. The phrase “thunder and lightening” gets thrown out too often in the modern NFL, but it certainly applies to Cleveland’s backfield.
Browns fans shouldn’t be surprised if Stefanski leans heavily on the ground game at the start of the 2020 campaign. Keeping things simple for Mayfield will be one of his top priorities. If Cleveland can impose their well on opponents at the line of scrimmage it could give Mayfield an easy route to a big season.
