6. Seattle Seahawks

No matter how tempting it is to count out the Seattle Seahawks you really shouldn’t. The Legion of Boom may no longer be a thing, but the Seahawks have consistently been in the playoff hunt under Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson.

The remarkable thing about Wilson, who came out of the gates hot as a Super Bowl winner in his second year, is that he might be underrated right now. Wilson has never received an MVP vote and his game is still ascending, a development that could frighten the rest of the NFC.

The Seahawks’ defense isn’t as good as it used to be in the Legion of Boom days, but Seattle still has plenty of talent on that unit to take care of business. The team is also extremely experienced, which should prove to be a major help in the postseason push.

The challenge that the Seahawks face is that they are in the NFC West, the most brutal division in football. The rugged nature of the division could send Seattle to the playoffs via the Wild Card route, a path that will be more difficult but one that the Seahawks could easily navigate to win it all.
