Georgia football gets a rematch with Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

Nov. 7 – at South Carolina

Georgia will certainly be out for revenge against Will Muschamp’s Gamecocks after they upended them in one of the more shocking SEC results of last season. Though this game will be played in Columbia, I’m expecting a rout in favor of the Bulldogs. They’re simply a much better and more talented football team that has added motivation to make a statement. Prediction: Win

Nov. 14 – vs. Tennessee

Jeremy Pruitt has Tennessee looking the part of a dangerous sleeper in the SEC this season as the Volunteers have several things working for them. The defense should continue to grow as a unit while they have continuity and a strong offensive line. Unfortunately for them, they don’t have the juice to really scare the Georgia defense, especially on the road. Prediction: Win

Nov. 21 – at Kentucky

Kentucky had a remarkable season in 2019 given all of the injury issues they were forced to deal with. Having said that, this offense has serious issues that I’m unsure how the Wildcats are going to solve them, even with the respect I have for Mark Stoops. That’s not good news for them against one of the best defenses in the nation. Prediction: Win

Nov. 28 – vs. Georgia Tech

There is reason to believe that Geoff Collins has Georgia Tech heading in the right direction and that the Yellow Jackets should be ACC competitors quite soon. Are they ready to go into Athens and knock off their rivals in this game? The answer is a definitive no at this point. Prediction: Win

SEC Championship Game – vs. Alabama

With their only SEC loss in the regular season coming in Week 3 against Alabama, the Bulldogs get another shot at the Crimson Tide, this time with the SEC Championship Game on the line. While this should be another tightly contested affair, I still have Bama with the edge because of the talent they have at the skill positions, particularly with Najee Harris in the run game. That proves to be the difference for the second time, leaving Georgia falling short yet again. Prediction: Win

Georgia football 2020 final record: 11-2

There’s a good chance that, if Georgia football can go 11-1 in the regular season, they will be getting some College Football Playoff buzz as they enter the SEC Championship Game. If they don’t beat Alabama — or whoever — in that matchup, though, they’ll fall short of the final four. It would be a good season, but not one of the best in Georgia football history, and more of a repeat of Georgia football once again falling just short. And even if unfair, the concerns about Smart’s ability to win in those big games will continue to mount.
