12. Chicago Bears

The Bears may long lament choosing its’ quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, over his draft-class counterparts Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.

However, Bears fans should not give up hope, as this offseason’s trade for veteran signal caller Nick Foles should bring hope for 2020, for head coach Matt Nagy, and for the future of the franchise.

The presence of Foles does one of two things for Chicago: it either challenges Trubisky to finally show why the Bears traded up to make him the No. 2 overall pick just three years ago; or, proves the team needs to move on. Either way, Chicago wins.

11. Philadelphia Eagles

This is probably the first major spot in our rankings where we significantly disagree with most of the national narrative. The Philadelphia Eagles, rightfully so, spent the offseason putting weapons in place to aide quarterback Carson Wentz in returning to the form that led the team during most of their Super Bowl season.

In addition to drafting TCU’s Jalen Raegor in the first round of the 2020 draft, the team also adds fourth round pick John Hightower, and veteran Marquise Goodwin, to go along with returning starters Alshon Jeffrey and DeSean Jackson. With Miles Sanders and Zach Ertz also in the mix – this should be the most talented offense Wentz has gotten to play with.

The team also made significant investments in its defense during the offseason including Jalen Mills, Rodney McCleod, Will Parks and Javon Hargrave. The defense should be better in 2020.

The problem for Philadelphia, and the reason it’s ranked so low here, is we don’t believe in Wentz. He needs to stay healthy and dominate once again.
