Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is holding out for a new deal.

Earlier this offseason, the Minnesota Vikings shipped superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. Now, the team could be faced with having to trade Dalvin Cook, as one of the league’s most valuable running backs will not partake in offseason activities until Minnesota hands him a new contract.

The Vikings need to do whatever they can to keep a player who is crucial to his team’s success, as Kirk Cousins cannot weather the storm alone. Cook had 13 rushing touchdowns and over 1,600 yards from scrimmage in 2019, and that’s production many other teams in the NFL could use.

Dalvin Cook to the Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills already made a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Vikings, but they could use even more talent in their offense. Devin Singletary looks like Buffalo’s lead back for the 2020 season, and the 2019 third-round pick out of Florida Atlantic did show up well last season with more than 60 rushing yards per game and over five yards per carry.

Since they already traded plenty of picks for Stefon Diggs and would also have to pay Cook a massive amount of money after the trade, the Bills would need to trade carefully. But in an offense with Diggs and John Brown as speedsters for the strong-armed Josh Allen, Cook could be the piece that gives the Bills the AFC East.

This is the time for Buffalo to be bold, because they can build a juggernaut in that division. But they might not have a whole lot of time, since the Miami Dolphins’ rebuild is going swimmingly well thus far.
