Aaron Rodgers fully trusts Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Packers fans should too
Packers fans will love what Aaron Rodgers had to say about the third-year receiver
Much has said this offseason about the Packers not using a first-round pick on a wide receiver to help out Aaron Rodgers. Drafting Jordan Love instead seemed like the biggest slap in the face to Rodgers. Things only got worse after Green Bay didn’t select a single receiver in the seven rounds.
If you think that fact is going to discourage Rodgers, you couldn’t be more wrong. The future Hall of Famer knows he’s got plenty of weapons at his disposal, including superstar pass-catcher Davante Adams.
But, he’s not the only wideout Rodgers is looking forward to slinging it to in 2020.
Packers fans should be happy that Aaron Rodgers trusts his young receivers
Rodgers is pumped about Marquez Valdes-Scantling? You better believe it. While Valdes-Scantling won’t be confused with the likes of Adams or Michael Thomas in the near future, he did a great job of extending the field last year and was a great vertical threat.
Now as he enters his third season in the league with Green Bay, the 6-4, 205-pounder is ready to take a big step with his play this fall. Rodgers trusts him to do that, and won’t hesitate in getting him the pigskin early and often in 2020.
“MVS is a guy who I have a ton of confidence in,” Rodgers said via Packers Wire. “I really feel like, if he can continue to grow, he can really add to our football team. I look for him to make big strides.”
In 2019, Valdes-Scantling caught 26 balls for 452 yards and two touchdowns. With Rodgers trusting him in big situations, coupled with his stellar athleticism, a big season could be coming for the young receiver.
