This Georgia football hype video has us pumped for college football.

Few teams were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and eventual cancellation of Spring Practice, more than the Georgia Bulldogs. Kirby Smart is busy trying to replace a number of starters while integrating another top recruiting class headlined by five-star talents Kelee Ringo and Broderick Jones. Without the ability to arrive on campus early, such efforts were delayed, until now.

This weekend, the University of Georgia opened its doors to athletes, with the reigning SEC East champions ready to get back to work. To mark the occasion, the program’s social media account posted a hype video of sorts.

Georgia football posts hype video celebrating the team’s return to campus.

With masks applied, these Bulldogs safely returned to campus to start football-related activities. They’ll be working from behind, however, as top competition such as the Florida Gators returns a number of high-profile starters at valuable positions — look no further than Kyle Trask.

For all the uncertainly, the Bulldogs appear to be embracing the opportunity on Day 1.

Wake Forest transfer quarterback Jamie Newman is the starter as USC transfer JT Daniels is fighting for immediate eligibility. Much of Georgia’s offense remains a question mark, with D’Andre Swift declaring early for the NFL and two offensive tackles taken in the first round.

Smart’s ability to replace talent year-over-year is where the similarities between him and his former mentor at Alabama, Nick Saban, begin. Having taken over for Mark Richt in 2016, Smart has developed Georgia’s program into a recruiting powerhouse in short order.

Georgia’s return to campus comes at a time of social strife nationwide, which Smart handled last week with important conversations with African-American team leaders. By doing so, he ensured a 2020 introduction to team activities without a significant distraction, as well as an important display of empathy to a young team in need of cohesiveness.
