BYU football believes it will have a swarming defense in 2020.

Or, that’s the impression we’re getting out of their latest hype video. This video was dropped on Twitter Monday evening and it’s all about who ferocious this BYU Cougars defense will be. It’s only a minute long, but you have to be chomping at the bit to watching some major college football after 60 seconds of this greatness.

BYU has a challenging schedule, as the Cougars do in most years. Though not technically a Power 5 program, the Cougars are one of the major national independent programs of note. BYU is never afraid to duck anybody when it comes to putting together its football schedule. While they may succumb to defeat, it’s important for the Cougars to play as many good teams as possible.

When many programs drop a hype video featuring highlights from the season before, it is essentially a guarantee it will feature plenty of beautifully-thrown passes, unbelievable catches and electrifying scampers to pay dirt. Too bad this minute-long hype video is all about the defense.

For 60 seconds, it’s all about picking off bewildered passer after bewildered passer. If it’s a Power 5 signal-caller even better. If it involves driving the opposing quarterback into the turf or breaking up a strong tight-window throw, you better believe it is on this hype video showcasing immense defensive prowess.

With the next rendition of the Holy War rapidly approaching, you better believe BYU football is ready to end the losing streak now. Should the Cougars knock of the Utah Utes in Week 1, it’ll go a long way in Kalani Sitake’s program asserting itself as a serious New Year’s Six contender out of the Group of 5.

We didn’t know how fired up we’d be to see BYU football play until watching this hype video.
