The New York Giants are….for lack of a better term…..interesting.

This will be their first year without Eli Manning in 100 years, and this will be Daniel Jones second season, first full season, as their starting quarterback. They have one of the best running backs in the NFL, Saquon Barkley. AND, they have some talented pass-catchers: Sterling Shepherd, Golden Tate and (as of today) Evan Engram. One person left off of that list is none other than

Darius Slayton (currently ranked as WR41): Slayton had an unexpected rookie season. It seemed like he came out of nowhere. One week, he was someone no one knew about, the next week he was a top waiver wire claim and someone that teams were able to use in their lineup frequently.

The reason I love Darius Slayton is: (1) his speed and (2) his connection with Daniel Jones. When Daniel Jones was under duress in 2019, he would look for #86 running down the field. Last year, Darius finished as WR33 even though he missed a couple games. Once on the field, Darius thrived.

He showed the Giants that they got a steal in the 5th round. Currently ranked as WR41, right next to his running mate, Sterling Shepherd (WR42), Darius is a high up-side play. The one thing Darius lacked in his rookie season was opportunity. His targets and playing time increased as the season went on and given Sterling Shepherd’s injury history,

Darius could very well end up being the #1 or 2 option on a New York Giants team that will have plenty of garbage time to score fantasy points. Darius is a sleeper pick in 2020 and I hope you’re able to get him onto your team before it’s too late.

Last but not least, and I really wish we could skip them…..but we can’t……..ahem……The Washington Redskins.
