LSU football schedule 2020: Predicting every LSU Tigers game
October brings a difficult road trip to Florida on the LSU football schedule.
Oct. 3 – vs. Nicholls State
Coming off their SEC opener and into the October portion of the LSU football schedule, the Tigers get another warm-up before they play the rest of the conference schedule. Nicholls State should offer little resistance in this matchup. Expect the starters for LSU to be sitting coming out of halftime. Prediction: Win
Oct. 10 – at Florida
Though Texas is a formidable opponent, the biggest test in the first half of LSU’s 2020 slate is a trip to Gainesville to face the Florida Gators. With Kyle Trask looking like a stable answer at quarterback for Dan Mullen’s team, Florida could be a challenger for the SEC crown. Their biggest question mark is one defense but, as Brennan and the Tigers are still early in the year, I believe the home team comes out on top in a close one. Prediction: Loss
Oct. 17 – at Arkansas
Scroll through any SEC predictions and there’s a good chance that you’ll see the Razorbacks in the cellar of the league. There’s a reason for that. While Sam Pittman hiring comes in and has the opportunity to rebuild the Arkansas program to its former glory, that’s not going to start in the 2020 season. They’ve got very little of a shot against LSU. Prediction: Win
Oct. 24 – vs. Mississippi State
We should honestly start to be seeing the ceiling of LSU football at this point in terms of what Brennan is capable of on offense and if the defense can reclaim a dominant identity. While Mississippi State is not nearly as talented as the Tigers top-to-bottom, this could be a dominant home win for Orgeron’s team as they prepare for an off week and then a brutal November schedule. Prediction: Win
