Los Angeles Chargers: RB Ryan Mathews (2010 1st Round, No. 12)

The Chargers traditionally do a good job landing talent early in the draft, so a bust for them is a bit relative. The closest fit is running back Ryan Mathews, a talented player who couldn’t live up to his potential due to injuries. After five seasons the Chargers let Mathews walk in free agency, where he spent two years in Philadelphia and has been out of football since 2017.

Los Angeles Rams: OT Greg Robinson (2014 1st Round, No. 2)

One of the highest picks on this list, Greg Robinson lasted just three years with the Rams. Weight problems plagued Robinson in St. Louis and he got moved off of left tackle in the middle of 2016. Robinson was eventually traded to the Detroit Lions for a sixth-round pick and has also spent time in Cleveland.

Miami Dolphins: DE Dion Jordan (2013 1st Round, No. 3)

Sometimes safe picks aren’t always safe and that was the case with Dion Jordan. Scouts fell in love with Jordan in the pre-draft process and the Dolphins snagged him third overall in 2013. Drug problems led to multiple suspensions for Jordan, who missed his final two years with Miami and was released after failing a physical in 2017.
