Who doesn’t love NFL royalty coaching up the son of other NFL royalty?

When it comes to playing the position of quarterback, none have done it better for longer than Tom Brady. If you want to define excellence as a cover corner and on special teams, the only name that matters is Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Brady and Sanders are arguably two of the 15 greatest players in the history of the NFL. Very few people would argue against that.

So when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback is seen working out the son of the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys legendary defensive back over the weekend, of course, it’s going to turn some heads. What’s even crazier about this workout between Brady and Sanders’ son is Shedeur Sanders is a four-star quarterback prospect in the 2021 high school class.

The 6-foot-2, 198-pound Shedeur Sanders hails from Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas is the No. 12 pro-style quarterback in his class, the No. 34 player in Texas and the No. 221 player in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite Ranking.

With 25 offers including his father’s alma mater of Florida State University and Brady’s alma mater of the University of Michigan, it’ll be interesting to see where Sanders ends up playing his college football. With Baylor, Houston and UTEP being the only Texas schools to offer him at this point, we might see Sanders play in the SEC where he has seven offers or in the ACC like his father.

At this time, it’s way too early to project where Sanders will end up playing. Florida State seems like a good fit because not only will it feel like home because of his father, but the Seminoles are rebuilding under new head coach Mike Norvell. Plus, it would be cool to see the younger Sanders make FSU football matter again, just like when his dad starred for the legendary Bobby Bowden.

While Sanders’ workout with Brady catches our attention, keep in mind he also worked out with Brady’s rival Peyton Manning on the first season of ESPN+’s Peyton’s Places. The elder Sanders taught Manning the intricacies of playing defensive back, as Manning would have probably been a safety had he not played quarterback like his entire football family did outside of his older brother.

With no real strong leaning at this point, we just need to sit back and watch how Sanders’ senior season at Trinity unfolds. He’s going to pick the right school for him. It doesn’t matter that his dad is an FSU legend or that Brady played at Michigan or that Manning played at Tennessee. All three Power 5 blue-bloods have offered him. This is his choice and let’s respect his decision.
