Nebraska football to fight for bowl eligibility in 2020 under Scott Frost.

Will 2020 be the year Nebraska football finally gets back to a bowl game?

Not since 2016 has Big Red played in a holiday season bowl. For whatever reason, nine or 10 wins every single fall under former head coach Bo Pelini wasn’t good enough. Nebraska fired him and brought in former Oregon State Beavers head coach Mike Riley. To say it was a weird fit would be an understatement. Now, we’re entering year three of the Scott Frost era in Lincoln.

The former star quarterback under the legendary Tom Osborne achieved tremendous success during his brief run at UCF. He won all the time down in Orlando. However, on-field success hasn’t yet followed him to the Big Ten. Nebraska hasn’t had a winning season in three years and has been sub-.500 in four of the last five. It’s time for Frost to do what he was hired to do.

No, we should not expect the Cornhuskers to dominate the Big Ten West this year, as they’ll be a middle-of-the-pack team at best. However, anything short of playing in a bowl game would be a catastrophic disappointment for Nebraska football. It’s six wins or more or bust for the Cornhuskers in 2020. Will a navigable early slate, can they get it done?

Let’s take a look and see what Frost and company are up against this fall.

Here is a game-by-game prediction for Nebraska football this season.
