At Penn State is the biggest game on the Ohio State football schedule in October.

Oct. 10 – vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

After getting off to what should be a 4-0 start, the Ohio State football team will then start October off with a bye week before facing Iowa. The Hawkeyes have a habit of slowing games down and making things competitive in odd ways. This game might get a little weird at times, but Ohio State should still win convincingly. Prediction: Ohio State wins 38-14.

Oct. 17 – at Michigan State Spartans

For Ohio State’s first road game against a Big Ten opponent in 2020, the Buckeyes will head to East Lansing. Michigan State has entered into a rebuilding period and is trusting Mel Tucker to guide the Spartans moving forward. Fans should expect Michigan State to struggle and Ohio State to clear this hurdle without much of an issue. Prediction: Ohio State wins 45-13.

Oct. 24 – at Penn State Nittany Lions

And now here’s a Big Ten road trip that could turn out to be a real problem for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State has struggled in its previous two trips to State College, Pennsylvania. In 2018, OSU came out and won by the skin of its teeth, defeating the Nittany Lions 27-26 and in 2016, Penn State defeated Ohio State 24-21.

James Franklin and the Nittany Lions should be a true challenge for the Buckeyes in a clash of what should be two unbeaten teams. Given that Ohio State lost Dobbins and Young, along with other key contributors from a season ago, it seems probable that Fields will have to play like a Heisman contender to win this game, but he should be able to do just that. Expect a close game, but one that Ohio State comes away from with a win. Prediction: Ohio State wins 31-27.

Oct. 31 – vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Even though the 2019 meeting between these two teams was uninteresting, the 2020 one has a chance to be intriguing. Ohio State defeated the Cornhuskers 48-7 in 2019 and should handle them again in 2020, but this contest could be more challenging if the Buckeyes are coming off of a physical, emotional win at Penn State. This shouldn’t be a trap game but could be a bit more difficult than Ohio State football fans want it to be. Prediction: Ohio State wins 34-24.
