The Ohio State football schedule all comes down to Michigan in the finale.

Nov. 7 – vs. Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers have been a team that has given the Buckeyes fits before. During Urban Meyer’s tenure as the head coach of Ohio State, Indiana would often prove to be a pest and would play the Ohio State football team closer than most. But, the Buckeyes should still win and it looks like Ryan Day may not have the same issues against Indiana that Meyer had given last season’s 41-point win. Prediction: Ohio State wins 45-17.

Nov. 14 – at Maryland Terrapins

Ohio State’s trip to Maryland shouldn’t be too rough. While the Terrapins are trying to reinvent themselves with an explosive offense, Ohio State knows exactly who it is and should win big. Prediction: Ohio State wins 59-21.

Nov. 21 – at Illinois Fighting Illini

Lovie Smith and Illinois are steadily building what the Fighting Illini fans hope can be a successful program. It’s going to be a rough road to sustainable success for Illinois, and this game won’t get Smith and his team any closer to being a consistent winner. Prediction: Ohio State wins 45-7.

Nov. 28 – vs. Michigan Wolverines

Ohio State boasts an eight-game winning streak over Michigan. Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines have had a rough go at taking down the Buckeyes lately, with the last couple of games being easily won by Ohio State. It seems probable that this winning streak continues on for Ohio State as Harbaugh and company don’t appear to have an answer for Fields. Prediction: Ohio State wins 41-28.

Big Ten Championship – vs. Wisconsin

Ohio State should clear through the regular season without a blemish on its record, setting the Buckeyes up for a match up with Wisconsin. The Badgers have shown that they can compete with Ohio State when presented an opportunity, but just like with every other team the Buckeyes face, it’ll be hard for Wisconsin to overcome the talent differential that is in Ohio State’s favor. Prediction: Ohio State wins 34-24.

College Football Playoffs – vs. Alabama

The Ohio State Buckeyes should make it back to the playoffs again this season, they’re far too talented not to do so. And with Fields leading Ohio State’s offense, Day has little to worry about against most teams. But Alabama isn’t most teams. Nick Saban has been evolving, and his team has with him.

The Crimson Tide still boast arguably the consistently most talented roster around and generally, if you give Saban enough time, he’ll find your team’s biggest weaknesses. While Alabama has some significant question marks of its own, it’s hard to pick against Saban. It seems plausible that Ohio State’s journey ends at 13-1 again, with the Buckeyes coming up just short of making it back to the national title game once more. Prediction: Alabama wins 34-31.
