Kansas basketball has some big questions to answer by next season.

There may not have been a bigger loser with the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic than the Kansas Jayhawks. The 2019-20 season was a wild one in college basketball, but Kansas basketball was peaking at the right time and looked like the favorites to win it all.

The Jayhawks will be dealing with some big changes next season with the graduation of Udoka Azubuike and Devon Dotson’s jump to the NBA. Let’s take a look at five big questions Kansas basketball has to answer this year, beginning with a look at what part Ochai Agbaji will play.

Kansas basketball may be the preseason No. 1 in the NCAA basketball rankings, and the favorite to win the Big 12 again, but Bill Self’s Kansas Jayhawks still have big questions they need to answer.

5. Kansas basketball questions: Will Ochai Agbaji be more consistent?

One of the more unheralded role players on Kansas basketball roster last season was Agbaji. A 6-5 sophomore who averaged 10 points a game and demonstrated the ability to make plays on the defensive end as well.

The one thing that was frustrating for Jayhawks’ fans was the inconsistency in Agbaji’s game. There were games where Agbaji looked brilliant and others where he couldn’t be found, which is not great for a guy expected to assume a bigger role this season.

Kansas needs to figure out a way to help Agbaji become a more consistent contributor in 2020. As a junior, Agbaji will be asked to help lead the team and be a more regular factor on both ends of the floor.
