Norwich face Southampton at Carrow Road on Friday, June 19. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

The Premier League season has resumed after a three-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. On Friday, Norwich welcome Southampton to Carrow Road. The Canaries are in desperate need of a victory as they face the relegation drop. With nine games remaining, Norwich are last in the Premier League, six points back of the safety zone. The Saints are 14th in the table with 34 points.

Norwich went into the hiatus on an awful note. The Canaries picked up four points in their final six games before the season was suspended. Manager Daniel Farke has been unafraid to aggressively press. The strategy might have worked the previous season in the Championship but it has left Norwich exposed this season. The Canaries have conceded 52 goals while scoring a Premier League worst 25 goals. One of the lone bright spots for the Canaries has been Finnish striker Teemu Pukki, who leads the club with 11 goals. If Norwich are going to survive the relegation battle, they will have to be better defensively and hope that Pukki catches fire.

The Saints lost four of five games before the season was stopped. Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl joked that he would have fired himself if it were up to him. However, if Hasenhuttl doesn’t start winning games, he could end up getting fired at the end of the season.

Southampton have struggled to keep the ball out of their goal this season. Only Aston Villa have conceded more goals than the Saints this season. While Southampton will likely avoid relegation, the number of goals they allow are alarmingly high and will have to be addressed if the club hopes to improve next season. In the attack, Danny Ings is having a great season. Ings leads the club with 15 goals this season.
