Game 1 ā Sept. 5:Ā Missouri State Bears 3, Oklahoma Sooners 74
I wonāt spend much time on this one. I think with the issues teams are facing this offseason, the great teams are going to use the easiest game on the schedule to test out different aspects of their offense. This leads to Oklahoma just going off on the Missouri State Bears. Thanks for coming, but thatās literally all the opponent is doing for this game is showing up.
Sept. 12: Tennessee at Oklahoma
This one hurts, because you never want to give Tennessee Volunteer fans hope. However, we see Oklahoma making a couple of mistakes here that keeps the game close. Rattler will throw two interceptions based on forcing plays.Ā Warren Burrell actually returns one of those interceptions for a touchdown in the second quarter. As Sooner fans start to worry about Rattler under center, he goes off. He throws for three third-quarter touchdowns, including two to Theo Howard whoās out to prove heās fine after a torn Achilles. This one is closer than it should be, but Oklahoma bounces back from their early mistakes.
Sept. 26: Oklahoma at Army
Another situation where the Oklahoma Sooners keep it close, but unlike the Tennessee game Oklahoma was in the lead from the beginning. They took the opening kickoff and marched down the field for a touchdown run by Kennedy Brooks, who is on the way to having a special year. They go up 21-7 in the third quarter before the offense stalls for two straight drives. Army scores a touchdown early in the fourth quarter on a 40-yard run by quarterback Jabari Laws. They drive late, but Oklahoma forces a fumble at the Army 45 yard line to seal the deal.
