What would Jamal Adams look like in a Dallas Cowboys uniform anyway?

Jamal Adams would like to play for America’s Team.

The two-time Pro Bowl safety for the New York Jets apparently wants out of the Big Apple. He requested a trade on Thursday. One of the eight preferred destinations he’d like to go to is the Dallas Cowboys. Adams grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, so a return home to play for the NFL’s most popular franchise would certainly be appealing for him.

We discussed what a trade an Adams trade to Dallas would look like, but now that we’ve seen what Adams would look like in a Cowboys uniform, things are definitely heating up. Adams liked this Instagram post of him in a Cowboys jersey, urging Dallas owner Jerry Jones to make a deal for the All-Pro defensive back. Reddit is running wild with this Adams like.

Jamal Adams liking how he looks in a Dallas Cowboys jersey is everything.

So what can we actually glean from this one simple like on Instagram? It signifies that Adams has probably played his last snap with the Jets. Though Adams was an incredible player for Gang Green, three years of inherent dysfunction would be a lot for anyone to handle. Despite being only a safety, Adams is among the very best at what he does in the entire NFL. He’s that valuable.

Of the eight trade destinations Adams would reportedly be open to, the Cowboys have to be at the forefront of discussion. The Cowboys have plenty of intriguing assets they could send the Jets’ way. Being that he’s still on his rookie contract with the fifth-year option, that’s two more years worth of time before the Cowboys would even think about slapping with the franchise tag.

The other team to keep an eye on in the Adams sweepstakes is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His former Jets head coach Todd Bowles runs the defense for Bruce Arians down on the Florida Gulf Coast. Like with the Cowboys, there is no state income tax in Florida, meaning Adams’ dollars as a former No. 6 overall pick out of LSU will go further for the time being. Of course, that’s important.

Liking an Instagram post is something anyone can do, but Adams’ message speaks volumes. He has no interest in playing another down for the Jets. That may not be up to him, but this is another episode of Adams saying he’s not happy in his current situation. If Adams goes to the Cowboys, he immediately becomes their best defensive player and maybe the best player on the team.

While it’s only a like on Instagram, it reaffirms Adams’ time with the Jets is likely coming to an end.
