3. The rest of the division is decidedly mediocre

The Vikings don’t have the talent to win 12 or 13 games this season. Fortunately, that won’t be required to win the NFC north. No other team in the division looks like they’re prepared to win more than 10 games.

The Packers are always dangerous with Aaron Rodgers under center but their front office has failed to upgrade his wide receiver group this offseason. That means the degree of difficulty for the Hall of Fame quarterback will continue to be too high in 2020.

The Bears might have sufficient roster talent at the skill positions, but they don’t have a quality starting quarterback on their roster. Neither Nick Foles nor Mitchell Trubisky should be taking meaningful snaps for a team with playoff aspirations.

The Lions have some intriguing players, but they lack the roster depth to be a threat to win the division. Matt Patricia is focused on saving his job but that won’t translate to a division title.

Simply put, the Vikings are set up to be the best team out of a group of relatively mediocre competitors. They’ll take advantage of the morass that is the NFC North in 2020.
