Week 2 on the Texas football schedule features a rematch with LSU.

Sept. 5 – vs. South Florida Bulls

The Texas Longhorns are scheduled to start the 2020 season at home in Austin against the South Florida Bulls. The game itself shouldn’t prove to be much of a challenge, and UT should start the year with an easy win as USF does not have the talent to keep up with Texas. Prediction: Texas wins 48-10.

Sept. 12 – at LSU Tigers

This contest will be an incredibly intriguing one. The LSU Tigers, the defending national champs, are being forced to replace the vast majority of their production, from both their offense and defense, as well as key assistant coaches, from the 2019 season.

In 2019, the Tigers and Longhorns played a thrilling, back-and-forth shootout in Austin, which resulted in LSU’s victory. Playing in Death Valley puts Texas at a notable disadvantage, but LSU losing almost all of its offense and the bulk of its defense should allow for Texas to come away with a close victory here. Prediction: Texas wins 37-34.

Sept. 19 – vs. UTEP Miners

After the Longhorns’ trip to Baton Rouge for a challenging game against LSU, UT will return home for a cupcake game. The Texas Longhorns will welcome the UTEP Miners to Austin and will send them home with a lopsided loss. Prediction: Texas wins 45-6.
