Arch Manning could continue making Clemson QBU.

There is only one way to ensure you’re playing in the College Football Playoff more often than playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide and it is playing for the Clemson Tigers. It is a tremendous benefit to have essentially an SEC football roster and play an ACC schedule. For as much as Dabo Swinney tries to downplay it, little old Clemson is big time now. Don’t worry, we already knew that.

Deshaun Watson is a star in the NFL for the Houston Texans. Trevor Lawrence is about to be in a little more than a year’s time. D.J. Uiagalelei projects as the next star of Clemson football. Once he’s done doing Watson and Lawrence things at the quarterback position, it would be time for The Arch Manning Show in Death Valley. Clemson could totally have two more national titles by then.

To not play for an SEC team would be very strange coming from the first family of football. However, the Manning men have to accept Clemson for what it is at the present time. The Tigers are the preeminent football team in America right now. They might be knocked down a peg or two by the time 2023 arrives, but this program isn’t fading anytime soon, as long as Dabo is there.

In terms of if Manning would commit to Clemson, it’s about as likely him committing to Tennessee to please his Uncle Peyton. Ole Miss is the clear favorite and the in-state Power 5 program of LSU would be No. 2. Going to play ball at Clemson wouldn’t be anywhere near as sacrilegious as going to Alabama. So for the time being, Clemson has the Crimson Tide beat as a dark horse contender.
