Arch Manning recruiting predictions: These 7 schools hold an early lead
By John Buhler
Could David Cutcliffe coach another Manning?
What if Manning isn’t that good of a quarterback prospect? What if he’s a three-star in the 247Sports Composite for the 2023 recruiting class? Not to say he wouldn’t have his shot to play at Ole Miss, but programs like Alabama, Clemson, LSU or Oklahoma may not be all that interested.
There is one other school we have to consider as a dark horse landing spot for Manning. That would be Duke, so long as David Cutcliffe is still the head coach of the Blue Devils. Cutcliffe was Peyton’s offensive coordinator at Tennessee and Eli’s head coach at Ole Miss. Cutcliffe will be in his late 60s in 2023.
Though Duke football is usually around a seven-win program under Cutcliffe, the Blue Devils are still producing passers the NFL is at least interested in. Thad Lewis, Sean Renfree and Eli clone, Daniel Jones, was the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft two years ago.
So does Duke have any shot of getting Arch Manning’s commitment? For the time being, yes, there is a chance Manning will go to Duke.
