DraftKings PGA: 2020 Travelers Championship Picks and Analysis
I am a huge fan of Harbour Town and the RBC Heritage event! It did not disappoint. The leaderboard was littered with top golfers and ultimately came down to the ball striking and putting combination of Webb Simpson. Another note I took away is driving accuracy. Ancer was putting like a a Grillo and he made up for it with his over 90% fairway accuracy. I’ll store that in my memory bank for 2021. After Pete Dye caressed the ego of plenty of golfers with an Oprah-like flurry of 63’s, the PGA will move up the coast to another Dye tract – TPC River Highlands in Connect For the 2020 Travelers.
River Highlands is no joke, sitting middle of the pack as far as difficulty last season. River Highlands will be a welcoming sight for the field. River Highlands is a Par-70 Pete Dye designed course playing around 6,900 yards. The bentgrass greens over seeded with Poa (it’s hot, so the Poa will be in full effect in the afternoon tee times) are above average in terms of size, fast, and require precise approaches. The rough is also particularly challenging versus the average event, although the fairways are easier to hit. Look for the winner to be driving the ball long in the fairway and attacking the pins with wedges. If you are the type of DFS player that stacks Friday/Saturday tee times, opt for the earliest tee times to take advantage of the soft greens and less grainy Poa.
