Real Madrid face Mallorca at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium on Wednesday, June 24. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Real Madrid, now sitting atop the table, return to La Liga action on Wednesday, hosting relegation-battling RCD Mallorca. Los Blancos ascension to first in La Liga didn’t come without controversy.
Real Madrid’s 1-2 win over Real Sociedad in San Sebastian on Sunday generated plenty of controversy after three pivotal decisions all went in their favor. Their opener came from a disputed penalty, La Real then had a goal disallowed for a dubious offside call and finally Karim Benzema appeared to control the ball with his arm when scoring what turned out to be the winner.
Vicente Moreno’s Mallorca side contains many of the same players that it did when they were in the Spanish third tier. Their successive promotions had the air of a fairy-tale to them, but it looks like the story may not have a happy ending this season.
While the team has attacking talent in the form of Takefusa Kubo, on loan from today’s opponents, and Croatian striker Ante Budimir, they have La Liga’s worst defensive record, which is why they currently sit in the relegation zone.

Takefusa Kubo will have the chance to impress his parent club, but anything other than a Madrid victory here would be a shock.
