Denver Broncos: Bradley Chubb
Drew Lock might be the guy the Broncos need to take the largest leap on 2020, but heās not their most likely MVP candidate. The honor goes to Chubb who has already established himself as one of the most dominant edge rushers in the game.
Chubb will need some help from his teammates to win the award. The Broncos will likely need to unseat the Chiefs atop the division for Chubb to make a credible case. That and 20 sacks could earn Chubb enough love to be the leagueās MVP.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes
The best quarterback in the NFL will always be a strong threat to win the leagueās MVP Award. Mahomes deserves that designation and as such, will be a strong candidate to win the award.
To come out on top he needs to pilot the Chiefs to at least 13 wins and throw for at least 5,000 yards. Voters might even expect more from Mahomes given how easy he makes the game look on a weekly basis.
Las Vegas Raiders: Josh Jacobs
The Raiders arenāt sure if Derek Carr is really the right quarterback to pilot their offense into the future. Fortunately for Jon Gruden and his staff, they are convinced that Jacobs is the right running back to serve as a focal point for their offense.
Heāll need to build on his outstanding rookie campaign to become the league MVP. Leading the NFL in rushing should be a minimum requirement. It might take a division title for the Raiders too if his candidacy is going to take off.
Los Angeles Chargers: Austin Ekeler
The Chargers canāt realistically think that Tyrod Taylor is going to lead their aerial attack to great heights. Instead, they must expect their ground game to excel in 2020.
Ekeler looks like the guy who is set up to get the lionās share of the carries. If he can turn in a Derrick Henry-esque season he could get into the mix at MVP. Thatās a big if, but the Chargers arenāt set up for a ton of success this season.
