6 college football quarterbacks who will become future Pro Bowlers
By John Buhler
We have arrived at the holy grail of college football quarterbacks. Yes, Trevor Lawrence is one of the greatest talents we’ve ever seen at the position. He projects as the best NFL Draft prospect since Andrew Luck came out of Stanford in 2012. He might be better than Peyton Manning coming out of Tennessee in 1998 and may even rival John Elway coming out of Stanford back in 1983.
At 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, Lawrence has it all when it comes to an NFL quarterbacking prototype. He can make all the throws, thriving especially in situations when he’s on the run and has to make precision passes into tight windows. Lawrence has excellent mobility and is a tremendous leader for his football team, on and off the field.
As with Justin Fields, the quarterback he’ll forever be linked to, both quarterbacks will go to bad NFL franchises. It would be uncanny if they both ended up on the big cat expansion franchises that came into the league in 1995. Lawrence would have a built-in fan base in Charlotte if he goes to the Carolina Panthers. He’s the type of player who will keep the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
In two years, Lawrence has lost one college came. He has completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 6,945 yards, 66 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He’s also run the ball 163 times for 740 yards and 10 touchdowns in two seasons. If Lawrence doesn’t end up pushing for a gold jacket in his NFL career, something went oh so horribly wrong for him. It’s not going to happen, though.
