Scouting Report. North. 1. player. 26. Pick Analysis. AFC. Baltimore Ravens

In the battle for which team is next to win a Super Bowl, the clear and undeniable front-runner here has to be the Baltimore Ravens. They have the reigning NFL MVP in Lamar Jackson, a head coach who has already one a Super Bowl in John Harbaugh, an incredible coaching staff with Greg Roman and Don “Wink” Martindale on both sides of the ball and so much elite personnel.

Of course, Jackson needs to stop losing at home in the AFC Divisional round because that’s getting old fast. Once he wins a playoff game, why not string three or four together and bring a third Lombardi Trophy to the Charm City? Baltimore is favored to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2020 AFC Championship game anyway, so the Ravens are right on the cusp anyway.

Jackson will be needing a new contract in about two years or so. The Ravens wisely took him late in the first round back in 2018. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have the luxury of a fifth-year option for the 2022 campaign. Though he may be extended by then, Baltimore’s Super Bowl window is wide open for the next two years, as long as Jackson plays well and they don’t lose both coordinators.

Technically, the Ravens have won a Super Bowl recently, as their Super Bowl 47 title came the year before the Seattle Seahawks won their first in 2013. 2012 wasn’t quite a decade ago, but enough time has passed for five different NFL franchises to have at least one Super Bowl parade. Maybe the third time’s the charm for Jackson in a Charm City playoff game? Let’s hope it is.
