Georgia and Mississippi State are the two finalists for four-star wide receiver Malik Nabers.

As soon as Mike Leach left Washington State for Mississippi State, you just figured it’d only be a matter of time before he started to make noise in the SEC when it came to recruiting. As things stand, he’s trying to go head-to-head with Kirby Smart for a touted receiver out of Louisiana.

Recently, four-star wideout Malik Nabers announced his top two schools, with Georgia and Mississippi State as his finalists. Nabers is the No. 250 overall recruit and No. 45 receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Will he end up suiting up for Smart, or head to MSU to play for the man known as The Pirate?

Nabers has picked up more than 30 scholarship offers this season, with Georgia, Mississippi State, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and many others putting a scholarship on the table.

Despite all that recruiting attention, the 6-foot-0, 190-pound speedster is almost ready to make his decision, trimming things down to Georgia and Mississippi State. He has plans to play in the SEC, we just need to wait and see where exactly he’ll be suiting up.

With Leach, his Air Raid offense has seen wideouts put up video game-type numbers over the years, which is of course going to be a strong selling point of his.

However, Georgia has brought in tremendous recruiting classes over the years and is hoping to play in the College Football Playoff this season. While Leach has brought in excitement to Starkville, Mississippi State went 6-7 in 2019. The Pirate won’t turn things around overnight.

Georgia will once again look to come out on top of a big-time recruiting battle, while Leach and his staff will look to pull off a stunner. We can’t wait to see where Nabers decides to play his college ball.
