Jets safety Jamal Adams showed love to Bill Belichick for the Pats signing Cam Newton

The internet and NFL world went absolutely bonkers on Sunday night, as the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick pulled off a stunner, signing former NFL MVP and Carolina Panthers stud quarterback Cam Newton to a one-year deal. Twitter went nuts too, with stars across the board reacting to the news.

This included New York Jets (for now) star safety Jamal Adams. In his post, though, the standout defensive back chose to give Belichick props first for giving Newton his shot. As you might imagine, Pats fans absolutely loved it. Jets supporters? Not so much.

Could Bill Belichick make a move and trade for Jamal Adams after signing Cam Newton?

Adams has let everyone and their mother know he doesn’t want to continue playing for the Jets. To say he wants out of New Jersey would be a massive understatement. Since he revealed he wanted a trade, Adams also made it clear eight teams are on his preferred wishlist: the Seahawks, Ravens, Texans, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Eagles, Chiefs and 49ers.

Now that Newton is in New England, and excitement back at a high level in the Boston area, could Adams add the Pats to his list? Wouldn’t that be something if Belichick added him too…

Belichick has proven time and time again that anyone who doubts him is making a major mistake. For a while now, everyone assumed the Pats would go 6-10 this year with Jarrett Stidham as their starter. Now that a hungry Newton will be in town, New England feels like the top contender to bring home the AFC East crown again.

If they somehow added Adams too, would we have them in the Super Bowl conversation? Anything can happen when Belichick is running the show. Hang on to your hats, Pats fans.
