NFL Power Rankings: Top 10 wide receivers in today’s game
The Green Bay Packers’ failure to add to their wide receiver corps this offseason was met with widespread bemusement, but that was certainly no comment on the qualities of Adams, who strengthened his grip on a spot among the league’s best as they reached the NFC Championship game.
Adams played only 12 regular-season games last season, ending 2019 with 997 yards and five touchdowns. Averaging 83.1 yards per game, Adams was on pace for what would have been a second successive 1,300-yard season.
The former Fresno State Bulldog uses his quickness to regularly create separation with his stem and has consistently found ways to get open in the biggest moments when the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have needed him most.
With the Packers opting not to utilize any draft capital on a wide receiver this year, Adams will remain the unquestioned focal point of the Packers’ passing attack but his poor supporting cast may allow opposing defenses to focus their energies on shutting him down.
Despite Green Bay seemingly shifting towards a more run-oriented offense, Adams is in line for another hugely productive campaign. A lack of answers on the receiving depth chart beyond Adams has hurt his efficiency, however, and their inability to address that issue this offseason could again limit his upside in 2020.
