Georgia nation is fully backing 5-star CB Kelee Ringo and his mom battling cancer

Freshman Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo’s mom is battling cancer and he has the support of his teammates.

Last winter, five-star cornerback Kelee Ringo was one of the most popular defensive recruits in the country. He ended up signing with Georgia, helping Kirby Smart and his coaching staff bring in the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for 2020.

He’s since made his way to Athens, but his family is battling some adversity off the field. It was recently revealed Ringo’s mom, who has been a huge Bulldogs supporter ever since her son signed with the program, is battling cancer.

As you might expect, the entire Ringo family was bombarded with support, and a GoFundMe page was even set up to help them out during this difficult time.

Ringo is already on campus participating in voluntary workouts and getting himself ready with his new teammates for fall camp to arrive. Meanwhile, his mom is back home in Arizona going through her bout with breast cancer.

It goes without saying, but this is obviously a difficult time for Ringo and his family. However, the amount of support they’ve received has been tremendous to see. As of this writing, the GoFundMe page set up for Ringo’s mom is already north of $13,000, more than half of the original goal of $25,000.

As you might expect, the new Georgia cornerback has been overcome with emotion since seeing everyone step up to help his mom out.

As Ringo gets ready to try and make an impact on the Bulldogs during his true freshman campaign, he’ll also be keeping his mom in mind. As he said, she’s a fighter and has plenty of people in her corner.
