The cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic left a lot of programs feeling a bit unfulfilled at the end of the season. One of the biggest what-ifs belongs to UCLA, which was left for dead in mid-January only to surge into the Pac-12 Tournament with a great shot to make the dance.
While there are still questions about whether or not the Bruins can carry their momentum into next season there is every reason to believe UCLA will have a strong year in the Pac-12. Let’s take a look at the latest projected lineup for the Bruins.
Projected UCLA basketball starting lineup: PG Tyger Campbell
As a freshman, Campbell made an instant impact on the UCLA offense. In 31 games last season Campbell averaged 8.3 points per game and five assists a night.
The Bruins have to be encouraged that the four-star recruit made a smooth transition to Division I. Campbell should be poised for another leap forward as a sophomore with more experience under his belt.
One area where Campbell can reasonably improve is his three-point shooting. After knocking down 42 percent of his 3-point attempts as a high school senior Campbell hit only 26.7 percent as a freshman at UCLA. A better outside shot will make Campbell a bigger threat offensively.
