While some players won’t get to benefit from this change until 2021, Rattler figures to be one of the biggest earners then when he figures to be a leading Heisman contender for a program that’s annually in the playoff conversation.
While commercials and advertisements for local businesses is one way for student-athletes like Rattler to make some cash, the real money could be in social media.

According to Opendorse, Rattler could $827,102 on an annual basis under the NIL guidelines.
Rattler’s Instagram post value is set at $7,492 which is substantially more lucrative than his $461 value for Twitter posts. You’ve likely seen sponsored ads on both Instagram and Twitter for various brands before.
Get ready to start seeing them from student-athletes like Rattler who are looking to make actual money so they can pay their bills and get some nice food outside the school cafeteria.
No matter how many times some will scream at the top of their lungs that they are paid in scholarship, you can’t exactly pay your utility bill in a scholarship. And you can’t go buy dinner with a scholarship.
This is soon going to be the way and people will have to accept that if you have a talent, you shouldn’t give it away for free. This is why no one goes to work because they love their job and refuse to accept a paycheck.
