5. Miami Marlins

The Marlins are another disaster. The team tries to win about once per decade and is fresh off a 105-loss season. Playing in front of no fans will be nothing new for this franchise that is essentially a farm system for other teams.

4. Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies added Bryce Harper and still failed to make the postseason in 2019. Philly has not been in the playoffs since 2011 and while the talent is there, results must be seen before getting too high on this club after an 81-81 season.

3. New York Mets

The main story surrounding the Mets this offseason was the drama with the potential sale of the team. And remember the whole hiring and firing of Carlos Beltran? The team still has enough talent, especially on the mound, to compete even with all the noise.

2. Atlanta Braves

The Braves are dealing with players opting out and others testing positive for COVID-19. Freddie Freeman was reportedly hit hard and it makes one think about the realities of life outside of baseball. Back to the game, there is enough young talent on the Braves to keep the team atop the division for 60 games.

1. Washington Nationals

The defending champions hold the top spot even after losing Anthony Rendon this offseason.

Juan Soto is a blossoming star and the team was able to lock down Stephen Strasburg on the long-term deal he deserved.
