Madden 21 decided to snub some more talented quarterbacks this year.

The Madden 21 ratings for top quarterbacks have been leaked, and while the top three highest-rated quarterbacks are more than deserving of their place at the top, the only NFL video game franchise once again made some quizzical rating decisions elsewhere.

Independent NFL reporter Dov Kleiman posted that Patrick Mahomes is, as expected, rated 99. Russell Wilson is right behind him with a 97 rating and Lamar Jackson, who should be rated from 97-99 as the reigning MVP and cover star, is at 94.

But the rest of the list is where it gets puzzling. Drew Brees at 93 is fine. But Tom Brady is the only other quarterback to be rated 90. He’s above Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers, with Watson, rated even below Matt Ryan (87) at 86.

It’s understandable for Rodgers to get a bit of a downgrade since he didn’t have the best season in 2019, but the Green Bay Packers star quarterback was clearly better than Tom Brady, who held his team back big-time. Hence why he’s no longer playing for the New England Patriots.

Brady could have a big bounce-back season in sunny Tampa Bay, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was ranked 18th in QB Rating. Rodgers was ranked 12th, Ryan 14th and Watson 11th.

Sure, Brady didn’t have the best supporting cast last season in New England, but Rodgers can say that his supporting cast was even worse when little-known backup running back Jamal Williams was one of the team’s leading receivers.

Next. Who has the best defense in the AFC South?. dark

It’s also worth noting that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will only be rated 84 in Madden 21 despite coming off a career year. Prescott blew a lot of these other quarterbacks out of the water with a top 10 QB Rating and 4,900 passing yards. Perhaps Jerry Jones put Madden up to the task of deflating Prescott’s rating amidst tense contract negotiations.
