8. Alshon Jeffery

There was a time when Jeffery could justifiably be called a No. 1 wide receiver for a playoff-caliber offense. Unfortunately for the former South Carolina star, that time has clearly passed.

Now there’s a legitimate argument to be made that the Eagles would be better off without concerning themselves with his availability. He’s missed nine games over the past two seasons and the team often struggles to work him in and out of the lineup. His myriad of injuries has also made him a less effective player when he does actually make it onto the field.

At 30-years-old, it’s time for the Eagles to start wondering whether or not Jeffery can even be a meaningful contributor. There’s a reason why they spent a high pick on Jalen Reagor in April’s draft. The days of Jeffery being Carson Wentz’s top downfield target are over.

At best, Jeffery can rejuvenate his career in 2020 and show Philadelphia he can be a decent No. 2 wide receiver as he enters the next phase of his career. It’s unclear whether or not Jeffery is the type of personality to accept that sort of demotion gracefully. If he’s not, the Eagles will move on from him this offseason without a second thought.
