2. C.J. Cron

Throughout the past three seasons, the major point of the Tigers’ struggles has been their lack of power at the plate.

At the end of last season, Detroit did not have a single hitter in its starting lineup with a batting average over .300. In terms of runs, the Tigers were led in RBIs by Miguel Cabrera, who ended last season with 59.

Enter slugger C.J. Cron.

Cron has never had a stellar batting average throughout his career, but he is able to hit home runs and consistently racks up RBI. Last season, Cron hit for a career-high 78 RBI along with 25 home runs, both of which would have been good for best on the Tigers.

During an intra-squad game on Thursday, he popped two home runs, and nearly hit another on Monday, but was robbed by outfielder Riley Greene.

If Cron is able to continue playing like he has in past years, and like he has in the spring, he will certainly be a bright spot in a woeful hitting lineup.
