A rugby team based in Russia has had an unexpected member of the team become its star, or GOAT.

While rugby is not very popular in the U.S. it has an incredibly passionate following in many other countries throughout the world, including most European countries, especially in the UK and Ireland, along with South Africa, who just won the Rugby World Cup last year, Australia, and New Zealand.

Although, rugby is actually one of the fastest growing sports in America, and this amazing rugby video of an actual goat training with a Russian rugby squad has made its way over to U.S. media, and it is undeniably entertaining, regardless of whether or not the viewer has any knowledge about rugby.

In the video, the players are shown lateraling the ball to the goat, which is how you are supposed to throw the ball in rugby, and the goat bounces it back off its horns into the hands of the player.

The goat has some impressive ball tracking skills and is able to stand up on its hind legs to ricochet the ball back.

In the video, it states that the goat has been given the name “Illysas” and that this is taking place in the Dagestan Republic, which is under the control of Russia. The Dagestan Republic is in a very mountainous region of the country, which is home to many mountain goats, such as Illysas.

Perhaps the most entertaining aspect of this instance, is that the goat simply walked onto the field while the team was training and just began to play with them. Certainly an unlikely, but still humorous, occurrence.

At the end of the video, a very good point is made in that the goat could certainly be used on Russia’s national rugby team, which has never won a World Cup game and only made it to the most recent World Cup because three other teams were penalized for fielding ineligible players.
