With every new accomplishment, Cristiano Ronaldo further secures his position as the GOAT of the soccer world.

Juventus are once again closing on  securing the Serie A title. The club has won the last nine titles in a row, so that’s become nearly a foregone conclusion at this point. The real story is Cristiano Ronaldo, who became the first player ever to score 50 goals in Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League on Monday. He also reached 50 goals faster than any other player in Serie A history.

The 35-year-old star conquers some incredible names with his new records. He is one of only four players in the last 60 years to score more than 30 goals in a single Serie A season. The others include 2006 World Cup champion and European Golden Boot winner Luca Toni, two-time Juventus MVP of the Year Gonzalo Higuain, and two-time Serie-A top scorer Ciro Immobile.

Ronaldo is practically the same player he was when he was young and in his prime, which is absolutely insane. When he first scored more than 30 goals in the Premier League, he was just 23 years old. Now, 12 years later, he’s still a scoring machine in Serie A. He’s proven that he can compete with anyone, because he’s thrived in every league he’s ever played in.

The sheer speed of Ronaldo’s scoring is also an incredible feat. It took him only 61 games in Serie A to put away 50 goals, but the second-fastest scorer in the league’s history scored 50 in 68 games. Since 1950, only two players besides Ronaldo have scored 50 goals in less than 70 games.

Soccer fans take their opinions seriously, so there will always be debate about who is truly the greatest of all time, but Ronaldo’s resume is absolutely undeniable. He has practically every record and award in the book, and it’s truly hard to imagine that we’ll ever see another athlete like him.

Next. There will be no Ballon d’Or winner this season. dark
